A lazy Saturday . . .
No where to go and nothing to do. Feels pretty good. However, should I have a run in with Bill Simmons today I will kick him in the junk.

Bill Simmons
Why is BS such a dipshit? Maybe it could be his astounding lack of consistency. Spending one hour in the mind of BS is enough to drive a person mad.

Thought Provoking Question
Is there a bigger corporate tool/shill for ESPN than Bill "My Head Shot Makes Me Look Like A Molester" Simmons? Discuss.

UNC
For the sake of everything good in this world, please Jeebus, let UNC win the National Championship and prove all the ACC doubters and naysayers wrong. Ha! Big East? More like the Big Least! Pre-emptively speaking, let the ACC continue to dominate the college sports landscape.

ESPN
Does anyone care one iota about the NBA? About the NBA regular season? The answer? NO. No one cares b/c (1) the players put forth minimal effort on a regular basis, (2) the officiating is, at all times, dubious at best, (3) games are often not competitive, and (4) the ESPN whores the NBA out and expects its viewers to be illiterate mouth-breathers who do whatever is suggested of them by mindlessly watching their B-ball games. Maybe that's why the ESPN/ABC/Disney/NBA marriage has been a total and absolute failure, i.e. see the NFL probowl significantly outdrawing the Lebrons v. the Kobes on the same day. (And for a league that predicates its success on marketing individual superstars, this is an total and abject FAIL.)

I was away.
So sorry for the extended sojourn from the blog. I was big game hunting in Africa for the past week. The frequency and intensity of said posts will increase in the future.

Just Horrendous
Is there is a worse sportscaster than Mike Patrick? It's like nails on a chalkboard. I would rather just listen to a game on mute or, better yet, just receive the crowd noise. He adds absolutely nothing of substance or any sort of insight to the game I am watching. Except for that one time he had the guts to say what was on everyone's mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_3Snd4HkgQ

Deep Thought For the Day
I can see how the expression "the former and/or the latter" may be confusing. Discuss.

The NFL and Me
On my way to partake in the opulence that is the NFL Experience. Good, clean, wholesome fun for the whole family.

Shout Out Time
Shout out to Phil-bert, who I heard was rumored to be the runner up for the Boston College OC position.

Not True
From time to time, I have been accused of spinning a yarn, but at least it's not done on cable or network NEWS. http://mediamatters.org/items/200901230002?

BC Affairs
For those of you who are BC fans (and I assume that includes the majority of college sports fans), it appears as though Jack Bicknell is leaving BC. Good bye and good riddance zone blocking scheme. http://www.boston.com/sports/colleges/extras/colleges_blog/ However, on a positive note, it appears as though BC has secured the commitment from Mr. Football in the state of Kentucky-RB Rolandan Finch. http://bostoncollege.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=79005
It can't all be roses.

Cry Me a River
How absolutely petty can you get? Maybe he shouldn't have left such a giant mess of the thing . . . Just sayin'.

My Adoring Fans
I am being criticized for including too many links in my posts. Just thought you should know.
Un-friggin'-believable
The cohones on these people is absolutely astounding. TARP funds used to pay billions of dollars in bonuses . . . http://www.ft.com/cms/s/378a38d4-e814-11dd-b2a5-0000779fd2ac,Authorised=false.html?_i_location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ft.com%2Fcms%2Fs%2F0%2F378a38d4-e814-11dd-b2a5-0000779fd2ac.html%3Fnclick_check%3D1&_i_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailykos.com%2Fstoryonly%2F2009%2F1%2F22%2F111056%2F805%2F957%2F687570&nclick_check=1
History is Written by the Victors, or Something . . .
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/ExecutiveOrderPresidentialRecords/. It's refreshing-like a cold beer on a hot Christmas morning. Remember when Presidnt Bush said that his legacy would unfold years from now after the full picture is revealed to the unwashed massed? Yeah, well, now we get access to the whole story.
Fair and/or Balanced
When in doubt, make it up. http://mediamatters.org/items/200901220006?
Doubtful that Mr. Colmes would have called him on it, but when the blind lead the blind, doesn't everyone get lost?

I could If I wanted to . . .
I think that if a I tried to, I could write a John Grisham-quality book. 1/4 mystery, 1/4 extraneous plot development, 1/2 character soul-searching. And, of course, my protagonist would be WH Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
Deep Thought
Why, according to Fox News, do "people" have a problem with the Guantanamo detainees being moved to a super-max prison in their state? Or, for most of the US population, someone else's state? http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/2009/01/22/youdecide_gitmo_terrorists/
Maybe it's because Fox is asking people whether they would "want Terrorists In [their] Back Yard?" Are they going to be given pop tents and made to camp out in my actual backyard (which I don't have b/c I live in an apt.)? These people aren't going to be able to get out, right? C'mon, it's supermax. It's all in how you ask the question? Let me give it a try: "Would You Want Terrorists housed in sunny, year-round 70 degree weather, or 27 degree average winter temperature?"http://www.usacitiesonline.com/kscountyleavenworth.htm#climate. Remember, if we coddle them, the terrorists win.
